The inspiration for the title of this blog came from the EP video for Enya’s album, And Winter Came. In the video, Enya, along with her lyricist Roma Ryan and producer Nicky Ryan are interviewed about the creative process for the music and for that album in particular. At one point, Roma Ryan states quite simply, “There are three of us. Everything is considered.” Similarly, the Judeo-Christian faith believes in one God comprised of three persons. In describing the three persons, the Greek term perichoresis is used, which means that the three persons are engaged in a sort of divine dance with one another. Much like with Enya and with Nicky and Roma Ryan, who in their creative work with the music “consider everything”, I believe the Trinity is a model for us as humans to engage in our own work and life and to be enabled to “consider everything” that is required for the flourishing of life on earth.
